Hi Poppy, Fancy meeting you here! Tell me, where is Coondle? I've never heard of it.

Hi Flossie.
Coondle, being far far away from your choice of residence, is a 'suburb' of Toodyay in the beautiful Avon valley. Another perfect place to retire to in WA. People used to ask me 'why would you move out there? There's nothing out there. And I would say 'exactly'.

Even more reason why the name should be familiar- I lived in Northam from late '96 until mid 2000.
I had good friends who lived in Toodyay for quite a few years and who both died earlier this year.
I also used to be a judge at the Toodyay Show for a number of years. I know Toodyay quite well. |

You probably wouldn't recognize Stirling Terrace today.
All power has been put under ground. New street lighting, new road surface and foot paths are being re paved.
Just one huge upgrade, that'll have to last for the next 150 years. |

You'll probably be paying for the improvements through your rates for 150 years.
Do you know if that bloke who does ironwork is still around Toodyay?
He used to have a little shop in the main street, but he lived and had his workshop on the road between Toodyay and Northam.
I ask because I've always wanted a weather vane like he made for a near neighbour of mine in Northam.
Instead of a rooster it had a witch riding a broomstick with her cat riding behind her. It was gorgeous and I'd still like one but I have no idea of his name or details.
If you are able to enlighten me I'd much appreciate it. |

I have never heard of the man you mentioned Flossie. Must have been before I moved up here Xmas 2004.
There was someone making wrought iron goods around Coondle, but he seems to have disappeared as well. |

Never mind, I guess I'll track him down one day.
I tried to change the colour of the print in this site but although it said it had changed it actually hadn't.
Any idea on how to do it? |

I'm having another go and also trying to make the size larger (just for fun) but nothing seems any different. |
